It’s been a minute. I shifted focus to my other substack and consulting work, which is currently my most consistent form of income if you can believe it. It was pretty nice not to work ridiculous hours every day on this minimalist startup. It was nice just to get reminded that this was meant to be a minimalist startup.
While my attention was elsewhere, I gained ten paying customers for the app. This doesn’t feel like a lot, but it also feels like a lot.
All of them found the app via the App Store itself. I’m going to prioritise ASO and conversions. I paid an expert to recommend keywords and I’m impressed with their suggestions. I’ll tweak the app store previews, too. I’ll probably change the image on the right to a more prominent forward-facing profile.
Next week’s goal is to sort a real game plan with the minimalism strategy in mind. People are paying for the app now. How do I maintain and improve it without causing myself too much stress? I have some ideas but let’s aim to post a format here next week.
Oh, bucket hats were a terrible idea — it’s now autumn.
